A life lived behind invisible glass

"Most scientists tend to focus on determining how autistic brains are broken, while they should be focusing on how an autistic brain works instead."

~ Michelle Dawson, Autistic Adult, and Scientific Researcher

Here is a definition from autismspeaks.org: Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviours, speech and nonverbal communication. It is different for everyone. Some people with autism can speak, while others are nonverbal. Some require a lot of support, but in some cases, an autistic person can live an independent life. Everyone is different.

Health Canada prevalence estimates of autism in children and youth went from 1 in 714 (0.14%) in 2000–2001 to 1 in 44 (2.25%) in 2023–2024, while roughly 1.8% of Canadian adults are estimated to be autistic, with higher rates among males (2.9%) than females (0.7%). In the United States, about 1 in 31 8‑year‑old children (around 3.2%) are diagnosed with autism as of 2022, reflecting a gradual rise, perhaps linked more to increased awareness and diagnosis. Across Europe, the overall prevalence is commonly estimated at 0.8–1.4% of the population (roughly 1 in 125–170 people), with school‑age children averaging around 1% and studies reporting an average of 1 in 89 children across several European countries. Those are big numbers, and unfortunately, the trend is upward.

Two years ago, a friend of mine who works at a foundation helping adults with intellectual disabilities told me about an autistic teenage boy, wondering if, in some way, energy healing could improve his life. I immediately said yes, that I would do it pro bono, and this is how our relationship began. The energy healing delivered through the Emotion, Body or Belief Code focuses on a one-to-one relationship, and with this in mind, we started working together. Although during those two years we did many sessions, I kept approaching each session as if it were the first. Be curious, open, and, above all, ask the Higher Powers for guidance and help.

It's been almost two years, and when someone reading the testimonial section of my website suggested I write about working with autism, I reached out to Marina, the boy's mother, and asked if she would like to co-author a longer article written from two perspectives. Here is what she wrote:

MARINA’S PERSPECTIVE

I want to share my experience with the energy healing practitioner who has been working with my son for the past two years. During this time, Gregory has been connecting with my son remotely about once a week.

After each session, I saw the real impact of the healing, but first, I want to tell you about my son and the condition he was in when we first turned to Gregory. He is now 17; he was 15 when we sought help. My son has had severe regressive autism since he was 3.5 years old, and he also has severe intellectual disability with delayed mental development. I heard from the doctors that my son would have to take antipsychotics for the rest of his life, but...  he doesn't take them.

My son had:

  • Poor comprehension of spoken language; it was situational.

  • He was very nervous almost all the time.

  • There were frequent periods of hyperactivity.

  • He was constantly engaging in self-stimulatory behaviours and vocalizations throughout the day.

  • Constant self-harm and aggression toward me were frequent occurrences.

  • He didn't speak, and when he tried, it was very difficult for him, requiring great effort and leaving him frustrated.

  • Developmental activities were also very difficult for him and did not yield miraculous results as they did for other children; on the contrary, after intense sessions, a regression inevitably followed.

  • In addition, at age 15, before we turned to Gregory, my son began having epileptic seizures about once every three months.

By the time I met and began working with the energy healing practitioner, I was already familiar with the principles of a healthy lifestyle, clean eating, and biomedical correction. Therefore, I want to point out right away that, in parallel with energy healing, I applied the principles of a healthy lifestyle and worked on my perception, psychological blocks, and traumas, which also have contributed to positive changes in my son's condition.

Now that I have clarified all the details, I will move on to the changes and results we achieved during our work with Gregory. It is also important to note that the sessions always had a visible effect! After the sessions, my son would either wake up early or sleep for a very long time. In most cases, his condition stabilized, and he became more focused and attentive; sometimes, however, his activity levels would rise, and he would become excited. Depending on the session's goal, we always achieved change and harmony. Gregory also consistently listened to what I told him and, regarding the problems at hand, helped resolve them.

I can confirm that Gregory resolved the bedwetting issue in just a few sessions, with lasting results for over a year now, even though my son slept in diapers with liners from ages 3.5 to 15.5. This result is specifically due to the healing, because I didn't do anything else to achieve it. As soon as Gregory began working on this, things started to change little by little, and we gradually reached the point where my son no longer needed diapers because he started getting the urge to go to the bathroom. I am also immensely grateful that Gregory has the gift of discerning information and that he always points out the causes of various issues in the body or the external environment, which we can address and improve to benefit my son's well-being. During this time, my son's comprehension of spoken language has improved significantly. He has become more confident and comfortable in his daily life, and overall, it's clear that this experience has allowed him to feel his own body. There are far fewer self-stimulatory behaviours now. Before our work together, they occurred roughly every 5–10 minutes - now I count only 10-20 episodes throughout the entire day!

My son's unwarranted self-harm and aggression toward me have disappeared. He has become very friendly and cheerful, showing affection and love toward his brothers and me. The hyperactivity is completely gone—though I thought it would never end—but when Gregory began working on the Heart Wall, the hyperactivity simply vanished and never returned. The tantrums and nervousness that no one could ever understand have also disappeared. He no longer cries for no reason or runs around nonstop, and if something is bothering him, he can point it out. The vocalizations have practically vanished, and in their place, directed speech and awareness are beginning to emerge.

As for his classes (developmental activities), my son now has much more energy - he is interested in participating, and the classes are now beneficial because he has the strength and energy to take an interest in something outside himself. It's important to note that Gregory himself is a very empathetic and responsive person, a true professional who is always willing to meet you halfway. He sincerely and thoroughly tries to delve into the problem and get to its root so it doesn't recur. Many people know that autism and developmental delays are multifactorial phenomena that do not exist on a single plane, so it is important to work in different directions to gain an understanding of the full picture and have a clear idea of exactly what we are dealing with. Gregory always helps with this; he tackles everything comprehensively and works through the issues that come to light.

For instance, once he identified a connection between my son's epileptic seizures and the strain on my nervous system, I decided to let Gregory work on me remotely to address any internal blocks. First, we managed to delay a seizure for 8 months, whereas initially it was 3 months. Now, almost 6 months have passed since the last seizure. After Gregory worked on me, my son experienced tremendous changes in his perception. He has become more adaptable and relaxed, and most importantly, less sensitive to external stimuli. I also believe that one of the achievements of energy healing is that my son successfully underwent anesthesia twice within a month (dental issues) without any behavioural setbacks, as had been the case before the sessions. Anesthesia had always been difficult for him to tolerate.

As for my own feelings and results after working with Gregory, I always felt the sessions and found myself drifting off to sleep. After the session, I felt truly rested - a magical and pleasant sensation. The results proved to be stable and long-lasting: I began to feel better about myself, my body, and my inner self, and to express my true thoughts, feelings, and opinions. I was able to define and establish clear personal boundaries with my relatives. I stopped fearing judgment from others and, as a result, began taking more action rather than just thinking about what needed to be done. I felt my inner strength and who I truly am, and this opened up many new paths for me. All of this helped relieve tension in my nervous system and significantly reduce the negative impact and stress on my son. After all, children with autism and developmental delays are very sensitive and not self-sufficient; they often depend on the state of their parents' and loved ones' nervous systems.

I believe that working on different levels is simply essential for children with autism, and energy healing is precisely capable of touching and triggering processes in other spheres and dimensions. I thank Gregory for his invaluable contribution to my son's recovery.

With love and gratitude,
Marina

GREGORY’S PERSPECTIVE

Below are a few notes on working with Marina's autistic son as seen from the energy healing practitioner's point of view.

Our first remote healing session was at the end of May 2024. Right away, I was impressed by the trust and eagerness of the subconscious mind that I sensed during the muscle testing. It was a team effort right from the beginning. After each session, I was getting feedback from Marina. Some sessions led to rapid improvement in the issue in focus, while others led to increased hyperactivity and aggression—perhaps a sign of what we call processing. It is the time needed by the body to absorb changes in the energy field. We settled into a rhythm of one session per week, targeting different areas or symptoms as they surfaced. Before each session, I muscle-tested to see if he was open and ready for the work, and most of the time, he was. A few times, we decided to stop working for a few weeks to allow the body to fully integrate all the changes that we've made. Less is often more.

After a series of Body Code Sessions, we did a Heart Coherence Protocol followed by a Brain Circuitry Protocol. Although the Heart Wall Emotions started to surface right from the beginning, the subconscious was not ready to commence the Heart Wall release. It took us a few months to get to this point. A few times, we decided to rely on the subconscious mind, focusing on "finding and releasing the most important imbalance or misalignment," which was very interesting to see alternative ways to access the subconscious "database." After a few months, I did the Heart Corherence Protocol again after learning from other practitioners that it could be beneficial to do it a few times.

It is worth noting that all of the sessions were so-called email sessions. After receiving an email from Marina, I would choose a time to work on her son, usually when he was asleep (due to the time difference), and send her my notes after the session. From the working perspective, the sessions were not different from other email sessions that I do, but at the same time, they felt a bit different. I come to think that it was because Marina was describing, let's say, a symptom, but it was her understanding of the symptom, not a direct feedback, no matter how close and engaged she was. I tried to be extra vigilant to ensure nothing was "lost in translation," if that is even the right way to describe it.

Fast forward to Spring 2026. For the next few months, we decided to keep sessions shorter and focus on specific symptoms rather than broader themes as we did before. Also, I want to test if there are so-called Surface Emotions that hide Primary/Deep Emotions. For instance, anger (on the surface level) is easier for the body to process than shock or fear (on a deeper level). Those deep emotions are usually anchored by a set of "heavy" emotions. Autism may (or may not, it's just my gut feeling) use engraved patterns to run a simplified response to maintain the baseline, or current/provisional homeostasis, while hiding the root causes of certain expressions that surface in day-to-day behaviours, following the path of least resistance.

It is a truly fulfilling relationship, and I can't express how blessed I am to do this work. While I can't write that the energy healing solved all challenges communicated by Marina, I can say with joy that we managed to improve many touchpoints and, in some cases, fully dissolve behaviours that changed the overall dynamic of the family. The young man—he is seventeen now—can cope with everyday experiences in a much calmer and more balanced way. There are signs of reaching out, and the doors to his inner world are beginning to open. Also, those two years contributed to my development as a practitioner, encouraging me to look for clues and find solutions to areas I didn't know.

At one point, we realized that the very unique relationship, the bond between mother and son, could improve if I did some sessions with his mother. We were right. Balancing Marina's energy field had a visible effect on her son. We are all connected, and in this case, the connection, perhaps obscured by behaviours attributed to what we call autism, is nevertheless keeping them both fastened on a deeper level.

Anyhow, from what I learned in the last two years, energy healing could dramatically improve the overall well-being of a person diagnosed with autism, including the whole family, which is often exhausted by managing even the simplest tasks of everyday living. It is a feedback loop - as the people who take care of an autistic person feel better, the person who is in the center automatically improves. As long as there is a good understanding of the processing time, the whole process is non-invasive. Energy work is light and gentle, and in this case, I intend to maintain an extra gentleness and lightness in every session. However, since the basis of the Emotion Code, Body Code, or Belief Code is the one-on-one interaction, which is unique in the same way that autism is unique for every person who has it, the positive outcome we have experienced doesn't mean it will work the same way for everyone. Still, I feel, energy healing can definitely play a role when it comes to autism.

In the end, I want to thank Marina for sharing her and her son’s story and the details of their healing journey.
